Keep in mind, at both locations you are shopping gently used (or new) clothing and accessories for a fraction of the original retail price. What kind of items can I sell on consignment with Article Consignment Boutique?
Their most popular and profitable brands are J.Crew, Madewell, Lululemon, Tory Burch, Anthropologie labels, Eileen Fisher, rag & bone, Alice & Olivia, Fendi, Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermes… just to name a few.
Items must be in excellent condition – meaning they are clean, free of stains, damage, or signs of wear. Clean items that have been sitting for months or years, wipe down shoes, check for holes and stains.
You can bring your items into the store Tuesday – Saturday 11am – 5pm or by appt if you need a time earlier or later in the day (neatly folded or hanging preferred). Tuesdays and Saturdays are the busiest days so we recommend Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
Accepted items will be added to your consignment account and we will email your item list with prices once we’ve completed appraising and authenticating (within 1-2 weeks). The store will keep items on consignment for 60 days and you receive a percentage of the selling price, as your items sell. See a detailed breakdown of your potential earnings.

An Interview with Article Consignment Boutique Owners
On the Sacramento Love blog we have the Small Business Spotlight series dedicated to supporting local small businesses. Since Article Consignment Boutique is a Sacramento-based company, we would love to tell the story behind their brand and products.
Store owners Abe and Val spent some time with me and answered our interview questions to tell the story of their brand and business.
What inspired you to start Article Consignment Boutique?
From the beginning Abe had a passion for quality fashion and we dreamt of owning our own boutique. We were introduced to the concept of consignment at a time in our lives where we were looking to make a career change that would allow us to spend more time with our daughter. We decided to take the leap of faith and our dream came true. Little did we know our second daughter (who we named Faith) would arrive the following year.
What you love about the Sacramento community?
East Sacramento in particular is very small-business supportive. There are many great parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and businesses with unique personalities and experiences. And many places are within walking or biking distance. We have some customers who drive several hours to shop with us and enjoy grabbing coffee or lunch while they are in the neighborhood.
What makes Article Consignment Boutique special?
First and foremost our legacy is our exceptional customer service. Our goal is for every person to leave our store feeling better than when they walked in. We truly enjoy assisting our clients in finding the next treasure and helping them sell treasures they no longer need. Clients buying and selling luxury especially appreciate working directly with our co-founder Abe. That type of service can’t be found in chains and franchises. Secondly we have always had a passion for ensuring that everything we sell is in great condition and authentic. We have a multi-step process to select the best of the best and use numerous tools and sources to ensure that everything you purchase at Article is the real deal.
What challenges have you faced, and how did the Sacramento community help you through it?
Balancing a family alongside entrepreneurship is a constant juggling act. We are very open and honest with our clients and we are so grateful for the grace they’ve given us when we’ve needed it. For example we’ve lost several family members over the past few years and our clients have been very patient when our processing takes longer than expected. And we try to maintain store hours that will also allow us to spend time with our kids which means we’re not open 24/7. Our best customers support our priorities and make a point to visit when we’re open or take advantage of our robust website and entertaining live selling videos on social media.

We have 2 side-by-side boutiques in East Sacramento at 706 56th Street. We also list nearly everything in our store on our website: ShopArticleConsignment.com and we conduct live selling videos on Facebook and Instagram each Thursday evening at 5pm and each Saturday morning at 9am.
What products are customer favorites?
The most popular treasures we sell are handbags and jewelry including Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Prada, Tory Burch, Tiffany, and David Yurman. In fact, Saturday 3/30/24 we are dropping a collection of David Yurman jewelry on our live video at 9am with the help of a guest.
