Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova Review: A Fun Indoor Playground for Sacramento Kids
Finding somewhere for kids to burn off energy during a Sacramento summer can be surprisingly difficult. When temperatures climb into the triple digits, the playground, zoo, and even our own backyard quickly aren’t an option past 12 noon. That is exactly how we ended up spending a summer break day at Peek-a-Boo Factory in Rancho Cordova, California.
I brought my 5-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter, and the timing could not have been better. It was simply too hot to comfortably play outside, and both kids needed somewhere they could run, climb, slide, and get their energy out.
As soon as we walked inside, I was relieved. The air conditioning was blasting, and the entire building was wonderfully cool. After coming in from the Sacramento summer heat, it felt amazing. More importantly, my kids immediately spotted the massive play structures and were ready to go.
After spending time here with two elementary-age kids, I can easily see Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova becoming a popular option for families looking for indoor playgrounds in the Sacramento area.
What Is Peek-a-Boo Factory in Rancho Cordova?
Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova is an indoor playground and children’s party venue located at 11270 Sanders Drive, Suite A, in Rancho Cordova.
The Rancho Cordova location opened in October 2025 and was the first Peek-a-Boo Factory location in the Sacramento region. The company already had locations in the Bay Area before expanding into Rancho Cordova.
What makes Peek-a-Boo Factory different from a basic indoor play center is the variety of activities packed into the space. The Rancho Cordova location features a three-level play structure, a timed Ninja fitness course, a Super Mario-themed obstacle course, tube slides, interactive wall and floor games, a toddler area, arcade games and rides, and dedicated birthday party spaces.
There is enough variety that kids can move from one activity to another instead of repeatedly doing the same thing. For my 5-year-old and 8-year-old, that was a big plus.
Our First Visit to Peek-a-Boo Factory
We visited during summer break on one of those Sacramento days when playing outside was basically off the table.
My kids had plenty of energy, but I had no interest in standing at an outdoor playground in 100 dregree extreme heat. Peek-a-Boo Factory gave us exactly what I was looking for: a place where they could be active without spending the afternoon baking in the sun.
The temperature inside was one of the first things I noticed. They had the AC blasting, and it was nice and cool throughout our visit. That might sound like a small detail, but anyone raising kids around Sacramento knows how important good indoor activities become during July and August.
Instead of sitting at home because of the weather, my kids could still have a very active day. And active is definitely the right word. This isn’t a quiet children’s museum or a small playroom where kids lose interest after 30 minutes. Peek-a-Boo Factory is designed around movement.
There are structures to climb, obstacles to navigate and slides to race down. My kids could challenge themselves, run around and explore without me having to constantly come up with the next thing for them to do.
The Three-Level Indoor Play Structure
The centerpiece of Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova is its huge three-level play structure.
This is the kind of playground that immediately grabs kids’ attention when they walk through the door. There are different levels to explore along with tunnels, climbing areas and tube slides.
My kids are at a great age for this type of indoor playground because they are old enough to confidently explore but still young enough to think a giant play structure is the greatest thing ever. My 5-year-old could climb and explore at his own pace, while my 8-year-old could move through the more challenging parts.
I especially appreciated having an indoor activity that worked for both of their ages. That is sometimes tricky with siblings who are a few years apart. A place geared toward preschoolers can feel too young for my daughter, while activities aimed at older elementary kids can be frustrating for my son. Peek-a-Boo Factory landed nicely in the middle.
The Ninja Course and Super Mario Obstacle Course
One of the features that helps the Rancho Cordova location stand out is its timed Ninja fitness course. Kids can work their way through obstacles while testing their speed, balance and coordination. Because the course is timed, there is also a natural incentive to try it again and see if they can improve.
There is also a timed Super Mario obstacle course. These kinds of features give older kids something more interesting to do beyond simply climbing through the playground.
The facility was specifically designed to include activities for different ages, including a toddler area for younger children and more challenging courses for older kids. For families with multiple children, I think that variety is one of the biggest reasons to consider visiting.
What Is the Ideal Age Range for Peek-a-Boo Factory?
Based on our visit, I think the ideal age range for Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova is about 3 to 10 years old, although the indoor playground is designed for children up to age 12.
My 5-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter were both at really good ages for the space. My son was able to confidently climb through the large play structure, go down the slides and explore the different activities on his own. At 8, my daughter was still completely entertained, especially by the more active challenges and obstacle-course-style areas.
I also liked that the activities didn’t feel too babyish for my daughter while still being manageable for my younger son. If you have siblings with a few years between them, this is a big advantage.
For younger children, there is a separate toddler play area designed for kids ages 3 and under, giving little ones a place to play away from the larger structures and more energetic older kids.
Older elementary-age children will probably get the most enjoyment from the Ninja fitness course, Super Mario obstacle course and larger climbing areas. Once kids approach the upper end of the age range, how much they enjoy Peek-a-Boo Factory will likely depend on the individual child and whether they still enjoy indoor playgrounds.
*Note: I am a 5’8″ adult and I had no problem going through most of the obstacle course myself. So if your child is tall, they will most likely be fine too.
There Is a Separate Toddler Area
Although both of my kids are past the toddler stage, I noticed that Peek-a-Boo Factory also has a designated area for little ones. The company generally caters to children ages 12 and younger and provides a separate space intended for children ages 3 and under.
That makes Peek-a-Boo Factory potentially useful for families with a wider age range of siblings. Parents with toddlers do not necessarily have to put their smallest child into the same giant structure being used by bigger elementary-age kids. This is truly a lifesaver because all of us parents worry about our little ones getting knocked down accidentally by bigger kids.
Arcade Games and Interactive Activities
Another fun part of the Rancho Cordova location is that the entertainment does not end with the playground. There is also an arcade area, rides and interactive wall and floor games.
Having these extra activities helped make the entire space feel more like a full indoor entertainment center instead of just an indoor jungle gym. For kids who like variety, that can extend how long they stay interested.
*Note: The arcade games have an extra added cost of a couple dollars each.
What Parents Should Know Before Visiting
There are a few practical details worth knowing before your first visit.
Children participating in the play structures are required to wear Peek-a-Boo Factory grippy socks. At the time of writing, the socks cost $3 per pair and can be reused on future visits.
Adults also remove their shoes in the play zones, but regular socks are fine for adults. So definitely wear socks yourself.
Another helpful detail is that adults are required to remain with their children during the visit.
The facility also offers free Wi-Fi, which may be helpful for parents who need to answer an email or get a little work done while their kids play. There is a small area for adults to sit with a laptop on a table to work.
Food and Snacks
Peek-a-Boo Factory sells packaged snacks and beverages but does not offer hot food. I know Wacky Tacky does have a cafe, but this venue does not.
Outside food generally isn’t allowed, although the facility says packaged snacks can be brought in and eaten in designated areas. Food and drinks aren’t permitted inside the actual play structures.
If you’re planning a longer visit, I would feed the kids before arriving or plan your visit around lunch.
Cleanliness and Safety
Cleanliness is always something I pay attention to at indoor playgrounds. There are simply a lot of little hands touching everything.
Peek-a-Boo Factory says its play structures are wiped down and sanitized daily. The company also says it uses hypochlorous acid to disinfect surfaces and has an industrial HEPA air purifier in the facility.
Staff also monitor capacity. If the play structures reach their maximum capacity, the facility may begin a waitlist. That is another reason I would check ahead on especially busy weekends, school breaks and rainy days.
Is Peek-a-Boo Factory Good for Birthday Parties?
Peek-a-Boo Factory is also heavily set up for children’s birthday parties. The Rancho Cordova location has private party spaces, including a princess room and a larger customizable party room.
Party packages generally combine playtime with time inside the party room. There are also optional upgrades available, including personalized decorations, balloon garlands, themed character displays, desserts, face painting and princess appearances.
I haven’t personally hosted a birthday party here, but after seeing the facility, I can understand the appeal. The kids already have built-in entertainment, and parents don’t have to figure out how to keep a group of energetic children occupied for two hours.

Parking at Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova
Another easy part of our visit was parking.
Peek-a-Boo Factory is located in a shopping plaza with free parking. We didn’t have to deal with a parking garage, metered street parking or a long walk with the kids.

For parents hauling water bottles, jackets, diaper bags or everything else that somehow accompanies children everywhere, convenient parking is always appreciated.
How Much Does Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova Cost?
One thing I always want to know before taking my kids somewhere new is how much the outing is actually going to cost. Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova admission is currently $20 per child, and that price includes admission for one child and one adult. Additional adults are $5 each.
For our family, I would consider the price reasonable for an indoor activity where my kids can spend a good chunk of time running around and playing, especially on a really hot Sacramento summer day when our options for outdoor activities are limited.
There are also a few discounted admission options:
- Regular admission: $20 per child, including one adult
- Additional adults: $5 each
- Children under 1: $16, or free when accompanied by a paid sibling
- Last Hour Pass: $16 per child, beginning one hour before closing
- Group rate: $18 per child for groups of eight or more on non-holiday weekdays
Keep in mind that children playing on the structures must wear Peek-a-Boo Factory grippy socks, which currently cost $3 per pair. The good news is that you can save them and bring them back for future visits instead of buying a new pair every time. Adults can wear their own regular socks.
Multi-Visit Passes
If you live in Rancho Cordova or the Sacramento area and think you’ll visit regularly, the multi-visit passes can bring the per-visit price down a little.
A 5-visit pass costs $95, which works out to $19 per visit, while a 10-visit pass costs $180, bringing the cost down to $18 per visit. The passes are non-refundable and non-transferable, although they can be shared between siblings.
Peek-a-Boo Factory Membership Prices
Families who plan on visiting frequently may get more value from a monthly membership.
The weekday membership is $115 per month for one child, plus $45 for each additional sibling. It can be used Monday through Friday.
The all-week membership is $155 per month for one child, plus $60 for each additional sibling, and can be used Monday through Sunday. Both memberships have a one-month minimum commitment and no activation fee.
For a family like ours with two kids, I would probably stick with individual admission for occasional visits. But if Peek-a-Boo Factory became one of our regular after-school or summer activities, especially during the hottest months of the year, the membership could start making more sense.
Is Peek-a-Boo Factory Worth Visiting?
For us, yes.
I especially recommend Peek-a-Boo Factory Rancho Cordova if you have elementary-age kids who need somewhere to burn off serious energy.
My 5-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter were both at great ages for the activities. Neither one felt like the playground was too young or too difficult, which made the outing much easier for me.
It was also exactly what I wanted on an extremely hot summer day. They could run around, climb and play while we stayed comfortably inside with the air conditioning blasting.
That alone makes it a great place to keep in your back pocket during a Sacramento summer, or even cold and rainy winter days.

After our first visit, I would absolutely include Peek-a-Boo Factory among the best indoor playgrounds near Sacramento for kids.
There is a lot packed into one facility. Between the massive three-level play structure, tube slides, Ninja course, Super Mario obstacle course, interactive games, toddler area and arcade, kids have plenty of ways to stay busy.
I also like that it works for a fairly broad age range. My 5-year-old and 8-year-old could both find activities they enjoyed, which is one of the most important things I look for when planning family outings.
Most of all, Peek-a-Boo Factory solved a very specific Sacramento-parent problem for me. It was summer break. My kids were restless. It was way too hot to play outside.
Instead of spending another afternoon at home trying to keep everyone entertained, we headed to Rancho Cordova, stepped into a wonderfully cool air-conditioned building and let the kids play. Sometimes the best family outings really are that simple.
