Top 30+ Kids Birthday Party Places in Sacramento for Every Age

Our family has lived in Sacramento for over 9 years, starting from when our oldest was a baby. This means we have celebrated at least 8 years of kids birthdays. Over the years we have seen so many new and cool kids birthday venues pop up, along with old favorites that stand the test of time.

As parents we completely understand the pressure we put on ourselves to throw the perfect birthday party for our kids. The thought of their party not going as planned and ending up a disappointment is truly a fear we all share. We know these big moments become core memories that last a lifetime.

With all that said, I have put together a guide with all my research on Sacramento-based party spots for kids. This includes the pros and cons, the cost, and the preparations needed and some budget-friendly options. Whether you’re celebrating a toddler’s first birthday, a school-age child’s big day, or a tween’s milestone party, Sacramento offers an incredible variety of kid-friendly birthday party venues.

How to Choose the Best Birthday Party Venue in Sacramento

Before booking a venue, consider:

  • Your child’s age and interests
  • Number of guests
  • Indoor versus outdoor preferences
  • Food options
  • Party package pricing
  • Availability during weekends and holidays

Many Sacramento birthday venues offer all-inclusive packages that include decorations, activities, party hosts, and cleanup, making planning much easier for parents.

How Much Should You Expect to Pay for a Birthday Party in Sacramento?

Birthday party costs in Sacramento really depend on where you celebrate and how many people you invite. A simple party at a local park with your own decorations and food can cost as little as $150 to $300.

Most dedicated kids birthday party venues in Sacramento offer packages that range from about $300 to $800, while larger celebrations with catering, entertainment, and add-ons can easily top $1,000.

Before booking, compare what each venue includes, since some packages cover everything from invitations to pizza and cleanup, while others charge separately for extras.

Summer Birthdays vs Winter Birthdays

In Sacramento we are very luck to have very distinct seasons, with very hot summers and cold winters. If your child’s birthday fall in the peak of summer (July or August), you may want to consider either an outdoor water play option, or indoors to avoid peak heat (it can be over 100 degrees outside).

If you celebrate a winter birthday, you may also want to consider an indoor birthday to avoid cold and rainy days. Spring and Fall birthdays tend to have some of the most mild weather, making them ideal for outdoor parties.

Hosting a Birthday Party at Your Sacramento Home

For our most recent birthday celebration, we decided to host the party at our house. We turned the house upside down and made our front lawn into a carnival style experience for my daughter’s friends. See below a list of ideas for fun kid-friendly activities that come to your house and bring the party to you.

Bounce House Rental

We had a bit of a disaster with our first bounce house rental. We made the reservation for the first bounce house a month in advance, which should have given the party rental company plenty of time to make arrangements. When I called a week before to confirm the rental, the rental company said that they were no longer available. Mind you, they did not bother to contact me to let me know, and they still have the cash deposit that I had put down. So basically, if I had not called them, it seems that they wouldn’t have shown up at all. So rude!

Luckily we found BounceHouse2, and they were great! They saved the day and delivered a bounce house for the party right on time. Highly recommend!

Family Slime

Family Slime Co is a fun choice for kids who love getting creative and don’t mind a little messy fun. This Sacramento-based mobile party company comes to your home or event space, handles the setup and cleanup, and lets every guest create a custom slime with their own colors, scents, textures, and mix-ins. It’s a hands-on birthday party that keeps kids engaged from start to finish while giving everyone a colorful creation to take home as a party favor.
