Folsom Historical District

I’m a sucker for historical districts when visiting new cities, so definitely starting with this area first. The Folsom Historical District serves as the vibrant centerpiece of the city and is often the first stop for visitors. Located along Sutter Street between Scott and Sibley Streets, it boasts beautifully preserved buildings from the 1850s. Within this charming area, you’ll find an array of unique shops, inviting restaurants, and a glimpse into the city’s rich past.

For a relaxing day of walking and or strolling, enjoying delicious food, and browsing boutique shops, the Folsom Historical District is the perfect destination. Much of the neighborhood is closed to vehicle traffic (which is a big plus for safety that puts me at ease with my children!), making it easy and safe for pedestrians to explore. With its charming atmosphere and variety of local businesses, it’s an ideal spot for a leisurely outing.

We enjoy taking the kids to Sutter Street for a fun lunch or dinner, followed by a stop for some delicious ice cream. It’s always a treat to explore the area and soak in the lively atmosphere. Folsom Premium Outlet Mall

The Folsom Premium Outlet Mall attracts dedicated shoppers looking for big-name designer brands at discounted prices. I’ve visited several times and have a few tips for first timers. First, parking can be a challenge, so it’s best to arrive early when the mall opens.

Another thing to note is that the mall doesn’t offer great food options, so it’s a good idea to eat beforehand or after your visit. I also want to be honest—don’t expect significant discounts at most stores, as many popular items are still priced full price. Our favorite shops at the Folsom Outlet Mall include BrainyZoo Toy Store, Vans, LOFT, Coach, Banana Republic, and Carter’s.
